I am working with an international group in soft commodities, recruiting for a Senior Market Risk Analyst in London. This role plays a pivotal part in risk evaluation and oversight for commodity exposures and FX risks spanning various business segments.

Main Focus

• Monitor and assess financial risks linked to commodity and currency movements across several product lines.

• Own the development and maintenance of risk reports and visualisations, working cross-functionally with teams including trading, finance, and management.

• Review and refine risk processes, suggesting improvements for efficiency and accuracy where needed.

• Deliver analytical insights on performance and exposures, supporting senior decision-makers with clear metrics.

• Flag up relevant market events and communicate risk findings, ensuring action as appropriate.

Experience required

• Degree in a quantitative discipline (science, technology, maths, engineering, economics or similar).

• Significant experience working within commodity markets or energy sectors, ideally in a risk or trading function.

• Understanding of how physical and financial commodity products are structured and priced.

• Familiarity with risk modelling and scenario analysis; practical knowledge of VaR methods would be welcome.

• Advanced user of Excel and VBA with the ability to streamline processes; Python and SQL experience beneficial.

• Experience with agricultural or soft commodity assets and international currency risk is an advantage.
