A Global Bank is seeking a Graduate Risk Analyst to join their team in London. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of an established Risk Reporting function covering Market and Credit Risk. The successful candidate will be ensuring the bank's risk reports accurately reflect the numbers required by various teams. This position requires building strong relationships with various departments, including Front Office, Risk IT, and Senior Management across the bank.

What you'll do:

As a Graduate Risk Analyst, you will be at the heart of the bank’s operations. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that risk reports are accurate and reflective of the numbers required by key stakeholders. You will act as a bridge between Risk IT and Business, facilitating smooth communication and collaboration. Your role will also involve building robust relationships with various departments within the organisation. You will take ownership of reporting numbers, providing insightful analysis while ensuring daily sign-offs and flagging any data issues or errors. Your day-to-day tasks will include producing daily reports as well as ad-hoc reports based on requirements. You will also monitor data quality controls associated with risk system inputs and outputs. As part of your role, you will present these reports to Risk Managers, Head Office, and Front Office as needed.

  • Ensure that the bank’s Risk reports accurately reflect the numbers required by Senior Management, Head Office, Front Office and Risk Management.
  • Act as a liaison between Risk IT and the Business.
  • Build strong relationships with various departments including Front Office, Product Control, Risk IT and Senior Management across the bank.
  • Own the reporting numbers, providing analysis, daily sign off and raising data issues/errors.
  • Produce daily reporting and ad-hoc reports on a needs basis.
  • Ensure timely & accurate delivery of daily risk reports produced for Risk Management.
  • Monitor data quality controls associated with the inputs and outputs from the risk systems.
  • Present reports to the Risk Managers, Head Office and Front office as required.
  • Take ownership of limit breaches, including monitoring and reporting the firm’s exposure against the limits framework.
  • Involve in department projects across all entities.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Graduate Risk Analyst role would require a strong educational background in Mathematics, Economics or a similar field. It would be beneficial if you had have experience in Risk Analysis, with relevant product knowledge including Fixed Income and Derivatives. Your understanding of Risk principles and performance monitoring techniques will be crucial to your success in this role. Additionally, you will have an understanding of Market Risk, Liquidity and/or Credit Risk methodologies and measures. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for this role, as is a detailed understanding of both business and technology processes used to produce market risk information. Proficiency in VBA, Excel, Access, Bloomberg is also required.

  • Experience working in Risk Analysis teams, preferably Market Risk.
  • Strong academics, with a background in Mathematics, Economics, or a similar field
  • Ideally have relevant product knowledge, including Fixed Income or Derivatives.
  • Knowledge of Risk principles and performance monitoring techniques.
  • Knowledge of Market Risk, Liquidity and/or Credit Risk methodologies and measures.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detailed understanding of both business and technology processes used to produce market risk information.
  • Proficiency in VBA, Excel, Access, Bloomberg.
