MLRO (SMF17)

An exceptional opportunity has arisen with a recognised wholesale banking institution who are seeking to appoint an MLRO, (SMF17) to lead a small high-performing team in a dynamic, commercial banking environment.

As the MLRO, you will drive strategy across multiple business lines where your expertise will have direct impact.

• Lead and develop a Financial Crime Compliance team, providing guidance and oversight across AML, sanctions, fraud, bribery, and other financial crime matters.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and business units, balancing regulatory obligations with practical, commercial solutions.
• Oversee transaction monitoring, CDD/KYC, enhanced due diligence, and risk assessments, ensuring the business operates within the regulatory framework.
• Manage regulatory relationships and reporting, ensuring compliance with UK financial crime legislation.
• Deliver strategic insight and assurance to governance committees and senior management.

This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced SMF17 with a proven track record in UK Financial Crime and AML, ideally in wholesale or investment banking. Experienced in managing teams and providing commercial, advisory-focused FCC guidance. Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders effectively and capable of running a team independently while developing talent.
