What you'll do:

  • Support the Head of Risk in developing, maintaining, and operationalising comprehensive AI governance standards, frameworks, and policies tailored to the firm's needs.
  • Assist in embedding the AI risk register into the broader enterprise risk register by coordinating with other risk owners to ensure a holistic approach to risk management.
  • Contribute to the development, monitoring, and auditing of the firm's AI inventory by mapping internal use cases to appropriate risk controls and assurance processes.
  • Proactively identify potential risks arising from business functions or digital projects and ensure these are addressed through effective mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate the running of cross-functional AI risk committees by supporting due diligence processes for AI tools and platforms used within the firm.
  • Lead the creation and rollout of standardised toolkits such as impact assessments, checklists, decision trees for AI risk identification and documentation standards for audit trails.
  • Promote a community of practice among 'AI risk champions' across various offices and departments to foster knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Draft, coordinate, and quality-check responses to client and regulatory requests for information regarding AI governance policies and assurance measures.
  • Advise teams working on GenAI-related issues by providing clear recommendations on navigating risks while enabling progress on strategic projects.
  • Monitor regulatory, legal, and ethical developments related to AI globally, translating these insights into actionable guidance for internal stakeholders.

  • What you bring:
  • At least five years’ experience in risk management, governance or compliance relating to artificial intelligence or digital platforms within regulated sectors such as legal, finance or consulting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of AI standards as well as global regulatory frameworks governing emerging technologies.
  • Proven track record of translating abstract regulatory requirements into actionable internal policies that drive compliance without stifling innovation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to liaise effectively with lawyers, business services professionals at all levels of seniority across multiple offices.
  • Ability to challenge constructively when necessary while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience supporting due diligence processes for technology platforms including alignment with organisational risk appetite.
  • Strong analytical skills allowing you to proactively identify risks within business functions or digital projects before they escalate.
  • Capability in developing standardised toolkits such as impact assessments or decision trees for consistent risk identification across departments.
  • Outstanding written communication skills required for drafting high-quality responses to client or regulatory RFIs regarding governance policies.
  • Commitment to continuous learning demonstrated by keeping abreast of regulatory developments related to artificial intelligence globally.
