What you'll do:

As the Head of Compliance in the construction sector, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's business activities. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust Regulatory Compliance regime while acting as the primary liaison with global regulatory bodies. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be put to use as you manage external audits and enquiries. You will also design and monitor various Management Systems, ensuring that they meet industry standards. As the Data Protection Officer for the UK, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding sensitive information. Your responsibilities will also include managing Customer Due Diligence checking procedures for all new customers and updating CDD policy when necessary.

  • Developing, implementing, and overseeing Regulatory Compliance regime and adherence to Ethical Standards
  • Acting as primary liaison with global regulatory bodies, managing all external audits and enquiries
  • Designing and monitoring various Management Systems including Quality, Information Security, Personal Information, Business Continuity, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety
  • Acting as Data Protection Officer for the UK
  • Managing Customer Due Diligence checking procedures for all new customers and updating CDD policy when necessary.
  • Supplier Approval (pre-selection due diligence checks)
  • Managing internal compliance audits with local stakeholders
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders in creating/ fostering a Compliance culture

What you bring:

As the Head of Compliance - Construction, you bring a wealth of experience in compliance within a large and growing agile market-leading global business. Your strong organisational skills enable you to manage multiple priorities effectively. Your excellent communication skills allow you to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including auditors, suppliers, advisers and regulatory authorities. You have a good knowledge of compliance software and technology and the ability to think strategically to identify opportunities to streamline the compliance burden. A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline such as law, finance, business administration, governance or insurance is required for this role.

  • Proven track-record in compliance in a large and growing agile market leading global business
  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of compliance software and technology
  • Ability to think strategically and identify opportunities to streamline the compliance burden.
  • Some knowledge/ experience of the construction professional services sector would be desirable.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent within a relevant discipline: (law/ finance/ business administration/ governance/ insurance)
