Our client is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Conflicts Analyst for a 12-month fixed term contract. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a leading global law firm, renowned for its exceptional breadth of practice and deep industry knowledge

The successful candidate will have the chance to work in a hybrid model, with up to 40% of time working from home and 60% working in the office. This role is integral to the New Business Conflicts Department, tasked with investigating legal conflicts of interest and firm business issues.

What you'll do:

As a Conflicts Analyst, your primary responsibility will be reviewing new business intake requests and collating the results of preliminary conflicts checks. You will play a crucial role in assisting with research on new client matters, ensuring any conflict of interest issues are resolved promptly. Your keen attention to detail will be essential in coding engagement letters according to established guidelines and documenting these actions in the conflicts database. You will also assist in securing approvals for new matters from the Ethics Committee, adhering strictly to firm policy guidelines. Your role will extend to training support for Conflicts Analyst Assistants and Conflicts Analysts under the guidance of your Supervisor. Additionally, you will monitor and track various special interest projects while maintaining proficiency in utilising the Conflicts Database.

  • Review new business intake requests and collate results of preliminary conflicts checks
  • Assist with research of new client matters, including resolution and clearance of conflict of interest issues
  • Code engagement letters according to established guidelines and document actions in the conflicts database
  • Coordinate receipt and documentation of engagement letters, client waivers and consents
  • Secure approvals of new matters from the Ethics Committee as per firm policy guidelines
  • Assist Supervisor in training Conflicts Analyst Assistants and Conflicts Analysts
  • Utilise the Conflicts Database proficiently
  • Monitor and track various special interest projects

What you bring:

As a Conflicts Analyst, you bring along your proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office, Excel which is essential for this role. Your experience in conflicts researching and analysis will be highly valued. Your ability to multi-task effectively coupled with strict attention to detail sets you apart. Your excellent oral and written communication skills enable you to interact effectively at all levels within the organisation. You thrive under pressure and can meet tight deadlines without compromising on the quality of work. Your ability to work well independently as well as part of a team makes you an ideal fit for this role.

  • 2 year's minimum experience within a well established law firm.
