Our client is seeking a Regulatory Change officer to join their team. This London-based role, with a focus across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, it offers an exciting opportunity to work with a collaborative team in a newly created position. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing regulatory change processes and enhancing procedures initiated two years ago.

What you'll do:

As a Regulatory Change officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting various activities within Privacy. Your primary responsibility will be leading the Europe and Asia-Pacific Privacy's Regulatory Compliance Management (RCM) activities as an Oversight Function and Risk Owner. You will also be tasked with maintaining the Europe and Asia-Pacific privacy's inventory of laws, rules and regulations (LRRs), providing objective guidance to promote strong privacy controls, developing risk assessments, supporting regulatory change initiatives, developing governance frameworks, policies and standards, supporting strategic projects, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, and acting as an ambassador for the company's privacy program.

  • Maintain the Europe and Asia-Pacific privacy's inventory of laws, rules and regulations (LRRs) and mapping to Risk Owners.
  • Provide objective guidance, support and advice to promote strong privacy controls and processes.
  • Work with the Privacy team on meeting RCM accountabilities for the EAP PO as both an Oversight Function and Risk Owner.
  • Develop privacy-related risk assessments, metrics and reporting mechanisms to assess the health of the privacy program.
  • Support regulatory change for Europe and Asia-Pacific as a jurisdictional Privacy Office Regulatory Change Lead.
  • Support industry advocacy activities in relation to upcoming regulatory changes.
  • Develop, update, and monitor the effectiveness of privacy related governance frameworks, Policies, and associated procedures, standards and guidelines, ensuring appropriate coordination with stakeholders.
  • Support strategic projects and program governance activities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and be an ambassador for TD's privacy program across the organisation.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Regulatory Change officer role will bring a strong legal background with familiarity in any regulated environment. While data privacy experience is not essential, the ability to understand and interpret complex laws and regulations is crucial. You will have a proven track record of working independently, thinking critically, making decisions, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will enable you to interact effectively at all levels of the organisation. Experience in developing governance documentation, reporting, presentations, and managing enterprise initiatives/projects will be highly beneficial.

  • Ability to understand and interpret complex laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of relevant European and international privacy legislation.
  • Strong ability to work independently, think critically and make decisions.
  • Exceptional time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience developing governance documentation (i.e., policies, frameworks, processes, guidelines), reporting, presentations.
  • Experience managing enterprise initiatives/projects.
