This permanent position offers an exceptional opportunity for you to advance your career beyond the Accounts Assistant level, with a clear path for progression and generous support for professional qualifications. You will be part of a knowledgeable and supportive team, working closely with experienced professionals who are committed to nurturing your development. The company boasts impressive growth, with turnover forecasted to nearly double this year, providing a vibrant and stable environment for your next career move. Enjoy a range of workplace benefits including incentive holidays, discounted gym membership, flexible start and finish times, and additional annual leave rewards for long-term commitment. * Permanent role based in central London with excellent transport links near Monument Station, offering stability and convenience for your daily commute. * Comprehensive benefits package including paid ACCA and CIMA qualifications, incentive holidays three times per year, discounted gym membership, 25 days annual leave plus extra days for each year of service, and flexible working hours with a late Monday start and early Friday finish. * Clear progression opportunities into more senior finance roles within a rapidly expanding organisation that values your growth and supports your professional ambitions.
What You'll Do:
As a Finance Executive based in London, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance department. Your responsibilities will span across managing ledgers in XERO software, handling multi-currency transactions, preparing statutory returns, assisting with budgeting processes, and ensuring smooth account reconciliations. You will work closely with both junior and senior colleagues in a collaborative office environment where knowledge sharing is encouraged. The role offers exposure to various aspects of financial management while providing ample opportunities for learning through hands-on experience and formal training. Success in this position will come from your attention to detail, willingness to learn new systems such as DEX receipts management, adaptability when dealing with foreign currencies, and ability to contribute positively within a supportive team structure.
* Manage sales ledgers and purchase ledgers using XERO software, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions across multiple currencies including USD, GBP, and EUR.
* Prepare VAT returns and assist with corporation tax submissions by maintaining up-to-date records and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance.
* Support cash flow management by monitoring inflows and outflows, helping to maintain healthy liquidity levels for ongoing business operations.
* Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities by gathering relevant data, preparing reports, and contributing insights to help shape financial planning.
* Process receipts efficiently using DEX software while maintaining meticulous documentation for audit purposes.
* Reconcile accounts regularly to identify discrepancies, resolve issues promptly, and uphold the integrity of financial information.
* Collaborate with colleagues on timesheet management to ensure accurate payroll processing and cost allocation across departments.
* Contribute to month-end closing procedures by preparing schedules, supporting reconciliations, and assisting with reporting requirements.
* Participate in training sessions provided by the company to enhance your skills in areas such as foreign currency transactions, software usage, and advanced finance topics.
* Engage proactively with the finance team during meetings with senior staff members as part of the interview process and ongoing collaboration.
What You Bring:
Your background as a Finance Executive should include practical experience using XERO software alongside strong foundational knowledge of ledger management. You will bring proven expertise in handling multi-currency transactions—particularly USD, GBP, and EUR—and demonstrate an ability to prepare statutory returns such as VAT. Experience with DEX receipts or similar tools will be valued but is not mandatory due to comprehensive training opportunities available. An AAT Level 3 qualification or higher is essential; if you are pursuing ACCA or CIMA accreditation you will find robust support here. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to thrive in a collaborative office setting where teamwork is key. Immediate availability will allow you to take advantage of this exciting opportunity without delay.
* Demonstrated proficiency in XERO accounting software with at least one year of hands-on experience managing ledgers or similar financial tasks.
* Solid understanding of sales ledger and purchase ledger processes including reconciliation techniques across different currencies such as USD, GBP, and EUR.
* Experience preparing VAT returns or supporting corporation tax submissions within a UK-based organisation.
* Familiarity with DEX or similar receipt management software is highly desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
* Proven ability to assist with cash flow management by tracking payments, expenses, and forecasting future needs.
* Exposure to budgeting processes or financial forecasting activities within a commercial setting is advantageous.
* Competence in timesheet administration or payroll support functions would be beneficial for cross-departmental collaboration.
* AAT Level 3 qualification or above is required; candidates working towards ACCA or CIMA are warmly welcomed as further study support is offered.
* Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to collaborate effectively within a close-knit finance team while communicating clearly with other departments.
* Immediate availability is preferred so you can begin contributing quickly to the organisation’s continued success.
