Inbound Supply Chain Manager
A leading FMCG business with significant YOY growth are looking for an Inbound Supply Chain Manager to join their team.
As Inbound Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of inbound supply and inventory, ensuring that the right stock is available in the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost. The role has a strong focus on inventory health, inbound flow, supplier performance, and working capital optimisation, while supporting service, availability, and operational efficiency across the business.
About the role:
- Own inbound supply planning from supplier through to receipt into warehouse(s).
- Ensure inventory levels are optimised to balance availability, cash, capacity, and obsolescence risk.
- Manage inventory policies including safety stock, reorder points, lot sizing, and lead‑time assumptions.
- Lead actions to reduce excess, slow‑moving, and obsolete stock.
- Drive stock accuracy and integrity across systems and physical locations.
- Work closely with suppliers to improve inbound visibility and reduce variability.
- Coordinate inbound volumes with logistics and warehouse teams to avoid congestion and bottlenecks.
- Support freight and logistics decisions where they impact inventory or inbound flow.
- Translate demand forecasts into executable inbound supply plans.
- Collaborate closely with Demand Planning, Procurement, and Operations to align supply assumptions.
- Manage inbound risks arising from demand volatility, promotions, seasonal peaks, or supply disruption.
- Lead regular inbound and inventory review forums with stakeholders.
- About the person:
- Proven experience in Inbound supply chain planning Inventory management within a manufacturing, retail, wholesale, or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and trade‑offs.
- Experience working with ERP / MRP / supply planning systems.
- Track record of improving inventory health while protecting service.
- Strong analytical capability with the ability to turn data into decisions.
- Confident communicator, able to influence across functions and levels.
- Experience managing imports, overseas suppliers, or long lead‑time supply chains.
- APICS / CIPS / supply chain qualification.
- People management or mentoring experience.
