Supply Chain & Demand Manager Sector: Distribution Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester Salary: 65k

An ambitious, private-equity-backed organisation operating across the UK and Europe is seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Demand Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering its demand and supply chain strategy during a period of significant growth and transformation.

This is a highly visible, senior operational role, working closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams. It will suit a commercially minded supply chain professional who combines strong analytical capability with hands-on execution and a proven ability to drive change.

Key Accountabilities

  • Delivering strong service levels and product availability across UK and EU supply networks

  • Driving improvements in forecast accuracy, OTIF performance, and inventory health

  • Balancing inventory investment with service and working capital targets

  • Leading demand planning and sales data analysis, producing forecast variance and performance insights

  • Collaborating closely with Sales, Procurement, Warehousing, Customer Experience, and Logistics teams

  • Managing inbound, intercompany, and supplier-facing logistics flows

  • Owning overstocks, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, including clearance and promotional activity

  • Developing robust reporting and insights using ERP systems and Excel

  • Supporting senior leadership with data-driven insight for planning, performance, and decision-making

Projects & Change

  • Acting as a key link between operational teams and IT on systems and transformation initiatives

  • Supporting WMS implementation and integration with ERP systems

  • Improving data accuracy, visibility, and reporting across demand and supply chain processes

  • Identifying opportunities to automate, simplify, and standardise forecasting and inventory processes

  • Leading small-to-medium process improvement initiatives across demand, stock, purchasing, and logistics

  • Embedding scalable best practices while maintaining agility in a fast-growth SME environment

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in demand planning, supply chain management, inventory control, and forecasting, ideally within complex or multi-site operations

  • Strong track record of improving supply chain performance through data-driven decision-making

  • Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with ERP systems (SAP highly desirable)

  • Highly analytical, numerate, and commercially minded

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and seniority levels

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with strong ownership and follow-through

  • Experience leading projects, driving change, and improving processes in dynamic environments

Desirable / Advantageous

  • Experience within pharmaceutical, wholesale distribution, healthcare, or e-commerce supply chains

  • Exposure to international supply chains and multi-country distribution networks

  • Experience collaborating with IT and business teams on forecasting tools and system improvements

  • Understanding of ISO quality systems and health & safety standards
