Head of Logistics and Customer Service

A leading FMCG business based in the North West are looking for a Head of Logistics and Customer Service to join their team. As Head of Logistics and Customer Service you will be responsible for delivering world-class service to customers by ensuring efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions are in place.

You will be a strategic thinker capable of working cross-functionally with internal and external key stakeholders to deliver superior service and cost.

About the role:

  • Lead initiatives to drive service levels, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and implement innovative supply chain solutions in collaboration with customers, partner with wider teams to align logistics and service strategies with business goals.
  • Manage the logistics network across exports, transport and warehousing, working with global factories and co-packers to manage inbound supply. You will be responsible for optimising the cost to serve, being proactive in ways to reduce logistics costs, manage the performance of service providers and ensure high standards of service and compliance with contractual agreements. You will ensure the logistics network can handle peak demands and growth.
  • Promote sustainable practices and reduce the environmental impact of logistics operations sustainable logistics networks that drive toward carbon positive, and a technology mindset to experiment and learn.
  • Coach and develop your team, ensure they receive the best possible training and are equipped with tools to support personal development and succession planning.

About the person:

  • Ideally degree qualified or overseas equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within FMCG with experience operating a senior level overseeing customer service and logistics functions.
  • Highly influential leader with strong business acumen who can engage well at all levels in the organisation.
  • Proven track record in the ability to drive change in a positive manner.
