Buyer
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Buyer to join a well-established and globally recognised organisation. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on operational efficiency and profitability by managing the procurement of goods, materials, and services across both direct and indirect categories. You will be at the heart of supply chain performance, driving cost optimisation and ensuring that all purchases meet rigorous standards for quality, cost, and delivery.
What You'll Do:
As a Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the organisation’s operations through efficient procurement management. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
- Managing purchase orders using SAP software to ensure alignment with material planning requirements and organisational objectives.
- Maintaining accurate records of material pricing and supplier information to support effective decision-making and compliance.
- Building strong relationships with suppliers by negotiating prices and terms that deliver value while upholding ethical standards.
- Leading tendering processes for goods and services, actively contributing to contract negotiations to secure favourable outcomes for the organisation.
This is an on-site role, so it’s essential you have your own vehicle or can easily access public transport.
What You Bring:
The ideal candidate for the Buyer position will bring substantial experience in procurement within manufacturing or related sectors. Your background should include:
- Minimum CIPS Level 4 qualification is essential; Level 5 is desirable for candidates seeking further advancement.
- Advanced IT proficiency with experience using SAP highly desirable for managing complex procurement processes.
- Experience building strong supplier relationships while monitoring performance against agreed metrics for continuous improvement.
- Expertise in contract management including tendering processes and handling RFQs/RFPs from initial request through final agreement.
