I’m working with a leading professional services company that’s looking to appoint a talented Senior Category Manager to take ownership of key indirect spend categories and help shape a modern, sustainable procurement function.

Senior Category Manager – Indirect Procurement
Salary: £47,000 – £55,000 + excellent benefits (including very generous holiday allowance and pension contribution)
Location: Manchester

I’m working with a leading professional services company that’s looking to appoint a talented Category Manager to take ownership of key indirect spend categories and help shape a modern, sustainable procurement function.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys variety, autonomy, and the chance to make a real impact. You’ll be responsible for transforming major category portfolios – from FM and IT to professional services and utilities – ensuring best value and supporting the company’s long-term sustainability goals.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead end-to-end category management across a broad range of indirect spend areas.

  • Conduct demand and market analysis to identify opportunities for value and innovation.

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across business units and support functions.

  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance and best commercial outcomes.

  • Embed green and socially responsible procurement practices aligned with the company’s sustainability ambitions.

  • Drive continuous improvement to deliver measurable savings and efficiencies.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience managing indirect categories in a complex organisation (professional services, public sector, or corporate background welcome).

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

  • Excellent commercial awareness and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

  • Passion for sustainability and responsible procurement.

  • Ideally degree educated or MCIPS qualified (or working towards).
