Procurement Specialist

Our client's Procurement team is at the heart of their business and plays a crucial role in driving value and efficiency through strategic sourcing and supplier management. They are looking for a skilled Procurement Specialist to enhance their procurement processes and supplier relationships. In this role, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that the procurement activities align with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet the company’s objectives.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers, conducting thorough market research to identify best suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable conditions.
  • Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships to ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with business objectives.
  • Analyse market trends and pricing to inform procurement decisions and strategy.
  • Prepare procurement reports and presentations for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Procurement Specialist.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel).
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

This role is based in the West Midlands and commutable from Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Stafford and Worcester as the company operates a flexible working policy.
