This is a great opportunity to join a leading OEM in the Automotive sector. My client is a recognisable brand in British and International manufacturing who invest heavily in the technology and innovation of their product.

You will be working as part of a high performing and agile team, with direct report into the Purchasing Manager. Cross functional engagement with the Engineering, Quality, Production and Legal Teams is vital for successful delivery and performance.

• Life-cycle responsibility delivering high quality, value for money components in to the business

• Accountability for cost and budget management for multi-million pound direct-spend portfolios

• New supplier identification and introduction into the business

• Deliver commodity strategy and nomination approvals in line with business requirements aligned with the organisation’s key stakeholders

• Negotiate, execute and monitor contractual agreements with suppliers

• Deliver challenging annual cost down targets

• Managed supplier performance on cost, quality and on time delivery

Skills/Background

• Ideally degree educated and/or CIPS status
• A strong communicator
• Demonstrable purchasing experience in an Automotive or Engineering environment

This is a hybrid role with the expectation of being in the office 3-4 times a month with the rest from home.
