A global energy company based near Chester are looking for someone to join their Capital Projects team as a Buyer. As a Buyer you will be expected to support the development of Project procurement strategies, undertake sourcing activities, and develop commercial procurement capabilities.
Responsibilities of the role:
-Strategic sourcing through tactical buying associated with major/complex capital projects.
-Cover commercial aspects of the acquisition of goods and services associated with capital projects.
-Responsible for implementation of sourcing and supplier management.
-Buyers will collaborate with project specific stakeholders and deliver effective project management of the sourcing process to ensure successful selection and contracting of suppliers.
-Buyers will ensure supplier performance is efficient and effective and provide first line support.
-Undertake commercial negotiations with relevant suppliers and liaise with stakeholders and legal to ensure favourable commercial terms which mitigate business risk.
About you:
-Degree educated (or equivalent) is desirable.
-Working towards CIPS qualification is desirable.
-Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
-Experience working in a commercial procurement role and knowledge of key technical competencies of procurement, commercial contract management and supplier relationship management.
-Proven track record of working with stakeholders is desirable.
