The client a medical/ pharmaceutical organisation who are part of a larger group, now require a Purchasing Manager Indirects due to the growth and the demands of the business to be based from their office in Cheshire.
As Purchasing Manager you will be dealing with suppliers and purchasing services and products in alignment with company policies. This will include developing excellent supplier relationships, managing both new and existing suppliers and negotiating contracts to maintain competitive pricing, service, quality and delivery at all times.
Key Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager:
Responsible for implementing strategies and running local tenders within a variety of indirects categories
Finalising all sourcing events documents and reports. Negotiating and managing supplier agreements.
Dealing with all new supplier requests and reviewing and maintaining a strong supplier base (quality, delivery, pricing, service, etc.) Supporting, implementing and promoting a preferred supplier network
Developing and maintaining strong business relationships with suppliers and clients.
Assisting with reporting requests and updates Researching and implementing improved and standardised buying practices.
Essential Skills/ Experience:
Current purchasing/procurement experience as a Senior Buyer or Procurement Manager
CIPS certification or equivalent experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A good knowledge of purchasing systems and e-sourcing tools.
Experience of key indirect categories (M&E, Marketing, HR, IT/Telecoms etc.) Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
