Production Manager

I am recruiting a Production Manager for a manufacturing business based in the West Midlands. Your role will be to ensure all manufacturing areas are operating in accordance with Quality, Cost, delivery, Management, safety and Environmental requirements.

As the Production Manager you are responsible for:

• Develop and manage the manufacturing process to ensure the requirements of internal and external customers are achieved.

• Create clear and timely presentations to the senior management team to communicate and escalate adverse situations and proposals for resolving.

• Lead and set standards from which others are expected to operate, taking full accountability for the area of responsibility and its performance.

• Create and update full Labour plans to support the area of responsibility, ensuring all required resources are available and fully functional prior to start of production.

• Ensure accuracy, adherence and diligence to company operating systems and promote ongoing development of systems.

• Produce weekly reports detailing outstanding system items to be addressed, ensuring smooth running and accurate reporting of area.

• Identify training needs of self and others with area of responsibilities

• Control all expenditure within allocated area, using PDCA principles and contribute to budgeting process.

Experience required for the Production Manager .

• Experience of managing a team.　　

• Previous experience working with in a manufacturing or similar environment

• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.　

• Ability to challenge others on their methods of working.

• Ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise work load, in a time-critical, fast-paced environment.　

• Senior management level experience would be advantageous

• Proven track record delivering positive change across a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Strong understanding of operational excellence processes, with the ability to integrate more effective planning within the business to deliver improved operational practices

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with external parties

• Experience of Lean Manufacturing Systems (Kanban)
