Logistics Coordinator

The Logistics Coordinator will manage and execute domestic inbound and outbound logistics activities for a manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, timely, and cost‑effective movement of finished goods and returns, maintaining accurate documentation and inventory records, and supporting safe and compliant logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule outbound shipments of finished packaging products to customers and distribution partners.
  • Liaise with carriers, freight providers, and internal teams to secure timely collections and deliveries.
  • Organise the movement of finished goods and work‑in‑progress between the production site and external logistics/warehouse providers.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain transport documentation, including bills of lading, delivery notes, and manifests.
  • Track shipment progress, identifying and resolving delays, routing challenges, or transport‑related issues.
  • Collaborate with production planning and warehouse teams to align dispatch schedules with manufacturing output.
  • Ensure accurate transaction recording for all inbound and outbound movements within the ERP or warehouse management system.
  • Coordinate loading and unloading activities with warehouse personnel and carriers.
  • Monitor freight costs and contribute to cost‑control initiatives across logistics operations.
  • Maintain adherence to safety standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality procedures.
  • Respond to logistics‑related enquiries from customers and suppliers, providing timely updates as required.
  • Support continuous improvement across logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Provide cover for international shipping and export tasks during holidays and absence periods.
  • Produce regular reports on logistics performance and service provider KPIs.
  • Assist with inventory management, stock checks, and related activities as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–5 years’ experience in logistics coordination, transportation, or supply chain operations.
  • Background in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in freight forwarding or import/export administration.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms 2020 and their implications for cost, risk, and customs processes.
  • Understanding of customs documentation requirements and basic tariff procedures.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities.
  • Competence with ERP platforms and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and manage logistics‑related disruptions.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and transportation processes.

Working Conditions

This role operates within both manufacturing and warehouse environments, working closely with logistics, production, customer service, and transport partners. Flexibility in working hours may be required to support shipping demands. Occasional presence in factory, warehouse, and dispatch areas will be necessary.
