Transport Shift Manager – 3‑Month FTC (Immediate Start, Potential to Go Permanent)
Location: Nottingham
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days, 06:00–18:00)

We’re looking for an experienced Transport Shift Manager to join a major logistics provider operating on a well-known retail contract. This is a fast-paced environment where you’ll play a key role in keeping the day shift running smoothly and ensuring compliance across the operation. The role starts immediately and offers genuine potential to become permanent.

About the role
You’ll manage the day-to-day transport operation, allocate drivers, monitor compliance, and liaise with internal teams and external partners to keep deliveries on track. The operation supports a leading UK retailer, so attention to detail and adaptability are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily transport activities, including driver allocation and vehicle checks.
• Maintain compliance with WTD, drivers’ hours, and safety standards.
• Coordinate agency cover and brief/debrief drivers effectively.
• Communicate updates to stakeholders and resolve issues promptly.
• Support continuous improvement and safe working practices.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in transport operations or shift management.
• Strong understanding of compliance and driver regulations.
• Ability to work independently and make quick, sound decisions.
• Confident communicator with good organisational skills.
• CPC qualification desirable (or willingness to work towards it).
