Facilities Manager
Salary: £42,000 per annum
Location: Birmingham & East Midlands
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

The Role

Reporting directly to the Site Manager, the Facilities Manager will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of site services, including maintenance, security, and contractor management. This role will suit someone with a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of maintenance personnel, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
• Manage day-to-day facility operations, including repairs, inspections, and enhancements across warehouse environments.
• Oversee external contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with safety standards and contractual obligations.
• Champion health and safety across both sites, ensuring adherence to regulations such as the Health and Safety at Work Act, PUWER, LOLER, and CDM.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify risks, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement.
• Evaluate contractor performance and ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with safety and operational standards.
• Manage the facilities budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost-effective solutions.
• Oversee waste management and recycling processes in line with environmental regulations.

Candidate Profile

We’re seeking a confident and proactive Facilities Manager who can challenge the status quo and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring:

• Relevant qualifications in Facilities Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in facilities operations, ideally within logistics, warehousing, or industrial environments.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and health and safety legislation.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in maintenance tracking and reporting systems.
• Budget management experience and a focus on resource optimisation.
