What you'll do:
As a Transport Shift Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading our client's busy operation. Your typical day will involve managing a diverse team of drivers across various shifts, overseeing the transport operation, and interacting regularly with the management team for our customer. You will support the planning of the weekly workload, organising staff shifts to ensure all runs are covered in a cost-effective manner. Ensuring safety compliance will be at the forefront of your responsibilities, conducting timely investigations into any incidents. Your leadership skills will shine as you guide your team towards success, providing accurate KPIs both internally and to customers.
- Manage a team of drivers across various shifts
- Oversee the transport operation on a daily basis
- Interact with the management team for our customer regularly
- Support the planning of the weekly workload and organise staff shifts efficiently
- Ensure all processes and procedures are followed for safe and efficient operations
- Conduct timely and accurate investigations into Safety incidents
- Provide leadership and guidance for the team and provide accurate KPIs internally and to the customer
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Transport Shift Manager role brings significant experience from working in fast-paced environments. You have previously held a Transport Shift Management position where you've managed drivers and office staff successfully. Your ability to support and encourage good team spirit sets you apart. While not essential, experience working in Trade Union environments, knowledge of Transport Legislation/WTD/Drivers hours, or holding a CPC in National road Haulage would be advantageous.
