An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Facilities & Maintenance Engineer in Oxford. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining all plant and machinery, ensuring all works are completed in accordance with H&S policies and procedures.

What you'll do:

As a Facilities & Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of all plant and machinery. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be put to use as you tackle both preventative maintenance tasks and reactive work. You will collaborate closely with your line manager and team to deliver best practices and develop cost reduction initiatives. Your ability to liaise effectively with varying levels of technical staff and customers will be key in delivering support and requirements to agreed timescales.

  • Maintain all plant and machinery including preventative maintenance and reactive work.
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with H&S policies / procedures.
  • Assist / support the supervision of sub-contractors for Facilities and Property Department.
  • Understand and work with Planet (work control) system, ensuring work/job sheets are completed within agreed timescales.
  • Complete works to meet departmental targets, SLA’s & KPI’s.
  • Collaborate with line-manager / team to deliver best practices and develop cost reduction / efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure support and requirements are delivered to agreed timescales / standards.
  • Utilise your basic understanding of following systems to carry out the tasks required: Fire alarms (including weekly testing), BMS system (re controls / temperature setting & adjustments), Mains & local electrical feeds / electrical plant room (Fault finding on electrical and mechanical plant following logical steps to resolve the issue when under pressure), HVAC systems within the organisations In house and its controls, Fire suppression/gas systems, Site drainage systems and Water schematics / systems.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Facilities & Maintenance Engineer role is technically highly skilled in both mechanical and electrical functions, with a particular focus on 18th Edition. You will have experience of mechanical and electrical plants and be educated to GCSE or equivalent. Your ability to work to targets and timescales will be matched by your excellent problem-solving skills and eye for detail. A quality-focused approach, mechanical competence, and self-motivation are also key to success in this role.

  • Technically highly skilled in both mechanical and electrical functions - 18th Edition.
  • Driving Licence.
  • Experience of mechanical and electrical plants.
  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent (English language and Mathematics are essential).
