"Our client is a leading independent European Cargo airline, offering freighter services on scheduled and charter flights. Based outside London, the business is expanding with the addition of a number of key strategic hires. Reporting to the Head of Fleet Development, this is a senior hire responsible for all financial matters relating to development of the company’s fleet of commercial cargo aircraft. Primary responsibility for advising senior management on funding options and negotiating the purchase or lease of aircraft from aircraft suppliers on the most favourable terms
Advising the senior management team on the financial aspects of all options for fleet development, including funding.
Provide financial plans and budgets with forecasts of the life time of the aircraft to be purchased/leased.
Advise on all contractual aspects of acquisition, leasing and debt financing of new and used commercial cargo aircraft.
Review all commercial agreements relating to the operation of commercial cargo aircraft in order to assess the financial plans are in line with overall financial strategy.
Advise senior management and contribute directly to negations in order to maximise fleet development on the best terms.
Model the aircraft costs through its lifetime to assess its economic viability.
Qualifications/Competencies and Experience Required:
Qualified accountant of banker with specialism, in commercial financing in the aviation sector.
Extensive previous successful experience of the aviation contract environment.
Held a senior role within a private equity, banking or accountancy practice similar level in house within an airline.
Able to influence and persuade senior management and board level as well as external stakeholders, partners and customers.
