A market leading Logistics giant is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to join their site engineering team in the Swadlincote area.
Responsibilities:
-
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with H&S policies & procedures;
-
Always act in a safe manner and highlight any health and safety risks;
-
To complete & develop PM and TPM schedules;
-
To carry out first fix repairs to building services where possible and if required providing additional information to the FM so the correct contractor can be instructed to make the appropriate repair and minimise disruption to operations;

To maintain all plant and machinery (including internal office fixture and fittings);
-
Responding to, escalating, recording and completing planned and reactive maintenance tasks in accordance with schedules;

Fault finding on electrical & mechanical plants, equipment & machines, following a logical steps to resolve the issues when under pressure;

To be proactive in highlighting and driving preventive measures and controls;

To identify and specify spares stocks to ensure breakdowns are covered and ‘no parts’ situations are minimised;

Specify and order materials and purchased parts and machinery to support work required;

Identify process and method improvements and cost saving opportunities;
-
Advise and train other maintenance operatives as required, assist in any training;

Assist in the specification of new machinery;
-
Must be able to use company business system software after training;

Ensure housekeeping is to highest standard, working with ‘5s philosophy’;

Liaise with other departments, Customers, contractors and Suppliers as necessary;

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the companies standards & requirements;

Carry out emergency site jobs if requested;

Small project installations both electrical & maintenance;
-
Basic civil, carpentry and plumbing works;
-
Assisting in site inductions/ toolbox talks with contractors to ensure they follow 'Guidance for Contractors' guidelines;

Support supervision of sub-contractors working within the site and associated buildings to ensure legislative requirements are met and fully satisfied and they meet sites rules and regulations;

Ability to ensure a cost effective solution and method of work is applied across the role for controlling departments budget;
Experience Required:
-
Good knowledge of the latest regulatory and statutory regulation, the likes of PUWER, LOLER and the H&S acts plus any EU/UK regulations.

Experience of mechanical and electrical plants.

3 years minimum technical maintenance experience; problem solving and fault finding, mechanical systems, FLT driving license preferred.

Time served, multi skilled, preferably to HND level with a good basic level of education. Technically highly skilled in both mechanical and electrical functions - 18th Edition. Computer literate.
