~~Robert Walters – Risk & Controls Specialist – Permanent – Hybrid – South Birmingham – £55,000–£65,000 per annum~~ Our client, a well-established organisation, is seeking a Risk & Controls Specialist to strengthen their internal control environment and support risk management initiatives across the business. This is a hands-on role for an ACA / ACCA qualified professional with experience in control testing, remediation, and risk management. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving controls across all Principal Risks. * Location: South Birmingham * Position: Risk & Controls Specialist * Full-Time * Salary: £55,000–£65,000 per annum

Key responsibilities of the Risk & Controls Specialist:

• Support the design, implementation, and ongoing effectiveness of risk and control frameworks across the organisation
• Perform hands-on control testing and assess the effectiveness of existing controls
• Identify gaps, recommend improvements, and drive remediation activities to completion
• Work closely with business, IT, and risk stakeholders to maintain and improve controls
• Maintain clear documentation of testing, remediation, and control procedures
• Contribute to risk reporting and management of Principal Risks
• Support internal and external audit activities, including providing evidence and responding to findings
• Act as a subject matter expert on risk and control best practice

Key essentials of the Risk & Controls Specialist:

• ACA or ACCA qualified
• Experience in risk, internal controls, or IT controls
• Practical experience in control testing and remediation
