Shift Engineer (Panama - 12 hour days)

The Opportunity

You’ll be a key part of a high performing Engineering team, ensuring machinery runs reliably and efficiently across a busy production facility. With a major focus on breakdown response, fault finding and reliability improvement, this role offers genuine variety and the chance to work across the full engineering life cycle — from installation and commissioning to reactive and preventative maintenance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns to keep production moving.
• Conduct advanced diagnostics on high speed packaging and processing machinery.
• Deliver high quality reactive maintenance with a strong focus on safety and engineering excellence.
• Carry out root cause analysis and implement long term corrective solutions.
• Support and contribute to planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Work closely with Production to minimise downtime and meet agreed targets.
• Accurately log all breakdowns, repairs and corrective actions in the maintenance system.
• Champion safe working practices and site engineering standards.
• Get involved in continuous improvement projects aimed at boosting OEE and equipment reliability.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Apprentices during maintenance and breakdowns.

About You

• Multiskilled Engineer
• Ideally 5+ years in an FMCG or fast paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding skills.
• HNC/HND desirable but not essential.
• Proactive, self motivated and resilient with a can do attitude.
• Confident communicator who works well under pressure.
• Flexible with shift patterns, including weekends/bank holidays.
