A fantastic opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join an established supplier of precision engineering parts based near Oldham, supporting the delivery of multiple projects to global brands within Nuclear, Oil & Gas and Industrial Engineering.

As a result of impressive performance and a rapidly growing order book, a well-known supplier of precision engineered parts and assemblies are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their team in Greater Manchester, based on-site at their facility near Oldham. The role is offering a starting salary of between £40,000 and £45,000 p/a, with additional benefits and training & development opportunities on offer.

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in reducing non-quality costs and striving for ‘right first time’ delivery by applying cutting-edge quality and continual improvement techniques. Working with a team of engineers and inspectors, you’ll collaborate on diverse projects and investigations to drive impactful improvements across the business.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Quality Issue Resolution: Serve as the focal point for all quality issues in assigned departments, ensuring timely and effective remedies.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage improvement projects focused on cost of quality and schedule adherence.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities and conduct Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions to address non-conformances.
  • Process Mapping: Map existing processes using suitable tools to understand Suppliers, Inputs, Outputs, & Customers
  • Risk Reduction: Develop processes to facilitate risk reduction and promote lean working practices.
  • Documentation: Create and implement Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to support departmental needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal and external customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive improvement activities and participate in internal and external audits as required.
  • Quality Tools Deployment: Develop and deploy key quality tools such as FMEA, MSA, 8D Problem Solving, 5 Whys, PPAP, and SPC, and support others in their use.
  • Performance Measurement: Measure and report performance KPIs, including non-conformance and corrective action trends, audit compliance, and improvement activities.

To be considered for this position you’ll need a proven background in quality engineering, with experience in a regulated industry such as automotive, aerospace, oil & gas or nuclear. Your application should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of problem solving and improvement methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why and FMEA, as well as examples of implementing corrective actions and CI initiatives. The ideal candidate will be familiar with APQP and PPAP, however this is not essential.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Quality Engineer to advance their career with a reputable and well-known company with links to key OEMs and an ever-growing order book. To apply and arrange a call to discuss further, please share your CV using the Apply function provided.
