A well-known supplier of precision parts and engineering solutions are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their team in Lancashire, based on-site at their facility near Burnley. The role is offering a starting salary of between £35,000 and £42,000 p/a, with additional benefits and training & development opportunities on offer.

Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, you will join an existing team of manufacturing, process and quality engineers to drive improvements to quality across the site. Focusing predominantly on Quality Assurance, the role’s key responsibilities include:

  • Support and maintain quality systems, accreditations and approvals
  • Manage preventative action and continuous improvement activities.
  • Manage non-conformance activities and generation of detailed non-conformance reports.
  • Review quality aspects of customers specifications and contracts.
  • Develop and implement quality programmes, including tracking, analysing, reporting and problem solving using recognised tools (RCCA, 8D, PFMEA, PPAP).
  • Acquire and analyse data using appropriate methods to facilitate process analysis and improvements.
  • Effectively use your knowledge and understanding of Quality requirements to support the business in ensuring supplier / customer audits and risk assessment standards are met.

To be considered for this position, you'll need to demonstrate a strong background in Quality Engineering, with a focus on Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement. Ideally you will have previous experience in a safety-critical sector such as aerospace, automotive or defence, however the manager is open to applications from Quality Engineers who have worked in other areas of manufacturing. You’ll be confident applying a range of quality methodologies including RCCA, 8D, 5Why and other elements of Six Sigma, while a huge bonus would be any training or qualifications relating to internal / external audits against ISO, AS or IATF standards.
