three men on stage performing at a corporate awards evening

We celebrated all of our 2017 nominees, and highlighted the accomplishments of the shortlist in the unique and exciting Victoria Warehouse on Thursday, 2nd November 2017.

Victoria Warehouse is a unique, innovative event space in Manchester, one of Europe’s most exciting cities. Built in the early 20th century, predominantly as a cotton storage facility, their warehouse buildings have stood as a symbol of this city’s industrial strength and innovation for almost 100 years.

Careful renovations have made it a venue to capture the imagination. We might be biased, but we think the awards were surely the best one yet.

Our photographer for the evening was Barry Mellor Photography See a gallery of some of the best moments from the awards HERE

The Hallé was founded in Manchester in 1858, and today presents around 70 concerts a year at The Bridgewater Hall, as well as 50 more nationally and internationally.

We will be joined on the evening by members of the Hallé Youth Orchestra, which was established in 2002 and features some of the best young musicians in the region. In recent years the Hallé Youth Orchestra has performed at the Royal Opera House in London and as part of the Manchester International Festival in Victoria Wood's comedy musical That Day We Sang. The Hallé Youth Orchestra also perform several times a year in The Bridgewater Hall including a 'side-by-side' event with the Hallé.

The Hallé Youth Orchestra will be playing during the drinks reception and through dinner.

This year's awards will raise money once again for The Christie Charity

The Christie is a world leading cancer hospital and cancer research centre. We treat approximately 44,000 patients each year, mainly from across Manchester and Cheshire; however, as a national specialist for a number of rare and difficult to treat cancers, around 26% of our patients are referred to us from all areas of the UK.

The aim of The Christie charity is to go above and beyond the scope of the NHS and to raise funds for vital cancer research programmes, new treatment facilities and state of the art medical equipment, as well as funding all those extra special support services that help patients to cope with the impact of cancer on their daily lives. This includes services such as a wig salon, psycho-oncology support, a cancer information centre, art therapy and various complementary therapies such as massages and acupuncture.

Our patients are at the heart of everything we do and we are committed to continually improving their experience, offering the best treatment and care, and pioneering research breakthroughs into various cancers. We simply could not achieve this without the generosity of our supporters.
