Risk and Compliance Lawyer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Lawyer to join a highly respected international law firm based in London. This role offers you the chance to be part of a forward-thinking Legal & Regulatory Risk team, where your expertise will directly contribute to the firm's ongoing success and growth.

Role description:

• Provide expert advice on a wide range of risk management and compliance queries from all areas of the business, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Develop, maintain, and update risk management policies, procedures, and guidance notes to ensure best practice across the firm’s operations.
• Respond proactively to daily queries related to risk management received by the team inbox, offering practical solutions tailored to specific business needs.
• Assist colleagues in business services teams with general risk management issues, supporting them in navigating complex regulatory requirements.
• Review and negotiate supplier agreements, including onboarding new technology providers while safeguarding the firm’s interests.
• Support data protection compliance efforts by handling subject access requests and managing data breaches in accordance with relevant legislation.
• Review and advise on outside counsel terms as well as client-requested edits to standard terms of business, ensuring alignment with firm policies.

Requirements:

• Qualified solicitor with at least two years’ experience working within a Risk and compliance team
• Fee earners with a commercial background will also be considered
• Demonstrable experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
• Working knowledge of SRA regimes and anti-bribery and data protection legislation
