Our client, a prestigious international law firm, is seeking an AML Analyst to join their London office.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for undertaking AML processes such as Client Due Diligence (CDD), analysis, risk assessments, ongoing monitoring and reporting. What you'll do:


As an AML Analyst, your role will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our client's operations. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of conducting thorough due diligence on new clients, assessing potential risks, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. You will be crucial in analysing data from various sources to identify any potential threats or suspicious activities. Furthermore, your excellent communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships with key stakeholders within the firm.


* Review and assess the AML and reputational risk associated with new client and matter requests
* Perform CDD and screening for PEPs, Sanctions, Adverse Media etc., utilising trusted industry sources
* Undertake screening alerts making a determination on matches, escalating if required
* Document research and analysis completed on clients and/or matters in a manner suitable for review both internally and externally
* Perform investigations where there are ML/CTF suspicions regarding clients and/or matters and escalate findings clearly and concisely for internal review
* Develop solid relationships with key internal stakeholders: partners, associates, assistants, Conflicts and New Business Intake, AML team
* Ongoing monitoring of client activities for unusual transactions
* Assist with any other AML compliance related matters or projects as identified and assigned by the Director of Risk and Compliance


What you bring:


The ideal candidate for the AML Analyst role will bring a strong academic background, preferably with a law degree or LPC. You will have a solid understanding of AML/CTF requirements and financial crime risks, although full training will be provided. Your experience in AML, KYC and Due Diligence processes will be highly valued, as will your ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Your meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills will enable you to excel in this role.

Requirements:


* Law degree/LPC desirable although not essential
* Strong understanding of AML/CTF requirements and financial crime risks associated with the range of legal services in the legal industry an advantage but not a prerequisite as full training will be given
* Relevant AML experience, preferably in an international law firm an advantage
* Strong analytical and research skills
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
