Conflicts Lawyer

You will play a key role in assessing whether the firm is able to take on new client work. You will be involved in legal and regulatory analysis of potential conflicts/confidentiality issues, liaising with partners and other fee earners to understand conflicts issues and existing client relationships. Your role will also involve supporting and advising the Conflicts Committee/Conflicts Partner in collating information from the business and making recommendations/decisions.

Conflicts Lawyer

Our client is seeking a bright, experienced lawyer to join their team managing a busy workload in a growing firm. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with other members of the Conflicts Escalations team, the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel and the Conflicts Partner. The role has a significant non-UK element, making it an exciting opportunity for those looking to broaden their international experience.

You need to be able to:

• Perform legal and regulatory analysis of potential conflicts/confidentiality issues.
• Liaise with Partners and other fee earners to understand conflicts issues and existing client relationships.
• Support and advise the Conflicts Committee/Conflicts Partner in collating information from the business and making recommendations/decisions.
• Understand and identify wider commercial, risk and reputational issues at conflict clearance stage.
• Input into policies and procedures for managing conflicts and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor other members of the immediate Conflicts Escalations team.

What you bring:

The successful candidate for this Conflicts Lawyer position will bring extensive experience as a lawyer, familiarity with the full range of work undertaken by a busy international law firm, an eye for detail whilst being able to see ‘the big picture' and think commercially. You will have an ability to tailor your approach to every client (likely to be a member of the firm) delivering high-quality support. You will also have an in-depth understanding of the regulatory regime as it applies to law firms in the UK.
