Are you a skilled Real Estate lawyer with expertise in residential development and a passion for driving positive change within communities? Robert Walters is recruiting on behalf of a Legal 500 Law Firm, recognised for its excellence in the sector, for a Real Estate Development Senior Associate to join their expanding team in Birmingham.

The Role

Join one of the largest Social Housing teams in the country and work with a growing client base of Registered Providers. In this key role, you will manage critical development projects, including:

• Acquisition of development sites for Registered Providers
• Package deals and S.106 units in turnkey and golden brick arrangements
• Routine residential development matters, including conditional contracts, affordable housing transactions, infrastructure agreements, and back-to-back sales

This position provides the chance to step into a fast-paced, high-impact environment, delivering exceptional legal services to a top-tier client base.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced lawyer who thrives in a dynamic, client-focused setting. The ideal candidate will have:

• 5+ years PQE in real estate, with substantial experience acting for Registered Providers, house builders, developers, landowners, or local authorities
• Strong client relationship management skills and a keen interest in business development
• Ability to work independently on transactions such as golden-brick deals, deeds of easement, overages, and affordable housing transactions
• A solid understanding of affordable housing transactions and their connection to plot sales and charging to lenders
• Leadership abilities, with experience in supervising and mentoring junior team members
