A unique opportunity has arisen for a Property Associate to join one of the country’s leading transactional social housing practices based in Leeds.
The firm’s Social Housing Finance practice (which includes both the banking and property teams) is a national leader – the team are close and collaborative with an entrepreneurial flair, a passion for the housing sector and a reputation built on out-performing for their clients. Being respected by all peers across the UK, the team has advised on many of the highest profile transactions and remains Tier 1 ranked in Legal 500 and Band 1 Ranked in Chambers.
The firm is looking for a Lawyer to join their Social Housing Finance Property Team based in Leeds; the role will undertake a range of social housing property work acting for the major banks and financial institutions, predominantly reviewing the due diligence carried out by the lawyers appointed by housing associations, and dealing with all conditions precedent to securing properties as fixed charge security to finance transactions. The successful candidate can expect to be involved in some of the biggest and high-profile matters from day one, handle their own matters (with supervision) and assist the Partners and Managing Associates on more complex matters. The firm is looking for a lawyer who will focus on property, development and regeneration and/or plot sales or any form of residential / commercial conveyancing.
Based in Leeds, this Property Associate role is for a candidate with an excellent academic achievement of a minimum 2:1 degree and a minimum of 6 months experience in a residential or commercial property team. In addition to experience in reviewing titles and search results, knowledge of drafting reports on title or certificates on title would be beneficial to the application. The firm is seeking to recruit an individual with not only a record of a high standard of client care for existing clients, but also the ability to fit quickly into a team-based environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to update and improve technical expertise on a regular basis as well as achieve continuous improvement and development. Experience in the social and affordable housing fields would be a benefit but is not essential as full training in this area of law will be given.
