A rare and unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join an expanding firm with an excellent reputation in Yorkshire. The role offers huge scope for career progression and the opportunity to work with an established client base to deal with full scope of Court of Protection matters.
A niche Private Client team are looking to expand its fast-growing team with by appointing a new Court of Protection Solicitor. Working closely with the directors and other lawyers in the firm, you will gain exposure to a broad range of private client working including Court of Protection, Powers of Attorney, Tax Planning, Trusts, Wills and Estate Planning and Care fees. You’ll be acting for clients, often classed as vulnerable, and will be responsible for drafting a variety of private client documents in addition to progressing court and benefit assessment processes including attendance at court and assessment meetings.
Applications will be considered from qualified Solicitors or Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives members (FCILEx) who have hands-on experience in the following areas:
• Experience of dealing with Wills, Trusts and Probate
• Experience of dealing with the Court of Protection and vulnerable clients
• Experience of dealing with benefit assessments and entitlements
Aside from the above technical experience, the successful Private Client Lawyer will enjoy working in a team environment and be able to communicate with a diverse range of people; be pro-active and have excellent time management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines; and be passionate about developing their own reputation as a specialist Private Client and Court of Protection Lawyer.
Whilst not a prerequisite, if you have an existing network of professional and charity contacts, an awareness of investment products and financial management, or have started the process to become a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, this will be a highly beneficial to the application.
