Our client is a leading international law firm with a highly regarded Commercial, IT & Outsourcing (CITO) practice. The team advises top-tier clients across multiple sectors, delivering high-value, complex commercial and technology contracts both in the UK and internationally.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Commercial Contracts Solicitor to join a market-leading team on a 12-month fixed term contract in Birmingham. You will work on high-profile, strategically important commercial and technology matters, gaining exposure to both domestic and cross-border transactions.

Job Title: Principal Associate - Commercial Contracts - 12M FTC
Location: Birmingham - Hybrid (50/50 WFH Split)
Salary: £85,000–£100,000
Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

What your day-to-day would look like as a Principal Associate - Commercial Contracts - 12M FTC:

• Advising on complex commercial, IT, outsourcing, and data privacy contracts
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating high-value agreements for leading clients
• Supporting major technology procurement, outsourcing, and transformation projects
• Handling both strategic and day-to-day commercial matters
• Collaborating with colleagues across the UK and international offices
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers

What we’re looking for:

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent with 6+ years’ PQE in private practice
• Strong experience advising on commercial contracts, IT, and outsourcing matters
• Confidence managing complex matters independently
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and technical skills
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
• Strong commercial awareness, judgement, and communication skills
