Compliance Manager

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Compliance Manager to implement, manage and control initiatives ensuring the company's compliance and governance in key areas of risk. This role is crucial for developing and improving compliance within the UK operations and implementing Group requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and implementing initiatives to ensure Compliance is embedded into the business.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program covering all areas of business regulatory, compliance and governance risk.
  • Lead role overseeing the Risk & Audit Committee, preparing required documentation, presenting on various items, minuting meetings and tracking actions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on risk and compliance issues acting as the business lead.
  • Support the business on meeting regulatory/statutory requests.
  • Stay ahead and plan for new legislation, best practice and industry standards introducing new policies and procedures to ensure on-going compliance.
  • Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them.
  • Draft/update and revise appropriate Company policies, proactively auditing processes, practices and documents to identify weaknesses and business exposure.
  • Evaluate all business activities to assess compliance risks, making recommendations for better compliance.
  • Educate and train colleagues on regulations and best practice at the required frequency.

What you bring:

  • Proven experience in a similar Compliance Manager role.
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws, PCI DSS standards, corporate criminal offences laws.
  • Experience in developing legal compliance programs.
  • Ability to create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them.
  • Experience in drafting/updating company policies.
  • Ability to evaluate business activities to assess compliance risks.
  • Excellent communication skills for educating colleagues on regulations and best practices.
