A prestigious and highly regarded law firm is seeking a Procurement Disputes Associate to join their expanding team in Birmingham.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented legal professional to work within a leading Public Procurement team, advising on high-profile disputes across sectors including health and social care, housing, local government and charities. The firm offers a supportive and collegiate environment, career growth opportunities, and exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on procurement disputes, including litigation under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and the Procurement Act 2023.

  • Managing dispute resolution processes, including court proceedings and settlement negotiations.

  • Providing strategic advice on procurement challenges and risk mitigation.

  • Collaborating with the wider Projects Department to deliver comprehensive legal services.

  • Supporting clients with training and advisory work, particularly in relation to new procurement regulations.

  • Assisting in supervising and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.

  • Contributing to the firm’s growth through business development and thought leadership initiatives.

About You:

  • Qualified Solicitor with solid experience in disputes. Procurement experience is desirable but not essential.

  • Strong understanding of procurement regulations and dispute resolution processes.

  • Experience advising clients in key sectors such as health, housing, and local government.

  • Ability to manage litigation matters independently while collaborating with a team.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals.

  • Interest in mentoring and supervising junior team members.

  • A proactive approach to business development and client relationship management.
