Legal Counsel

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Counsel to join a highly respected and forward-thinking organisation operating across multiple sectors. This is a key role within a dynamic legal team, providing expert advice on a wide range of legal and commercial matters. The position offers exposure to high-profile projects and an opportunity to make a real impact within the business.

Job Title: Interim Legal Counsel
Contract: 3 - 6 month contract
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £275 - £400 per day
Working Pattern: Hybrid, 3 days in office and 2 days WFH

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pragmatic and timely legal advice on a broad range of commercial and contractual matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts including supplier agreements, customer contracts, and partnership arrangements.
• Support the business on compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Advise on risk management and support business decision-making to mitigate potential legal exposure.
• Assist with dispute resolution and liaise with external legal counsel where necessary.
• Keep up to date with legal and regulatory developments and advise stakeholders accordingly.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to support strategic initiatives and projects.

Essential Skills & Experience

• UK Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with solid post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Strong background in commercial contracts gained in private practice or in-house environment.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and provide clear, practical advice.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.

Desirable

• Knowledge of data protection, intellectual property, or corporate governance.
