Senior Legal Counsel

My client is a highly confidential organisation, handling sensitive, high-impact matters across multiple sectors. Their legal team provides pragmatic, commercially focused advice at a senior level, and they’re seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel for an exciting interim project.

Job Title: Senior Legal Counsel
Location: Birmingham / Midlands
Contract Type: 6-month contract

Hourly Rate: £550 - £650 per day

What you’ll be doing:
• Advising on a broad range of complex and sensitive commercial, corporate, and operational matters.
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating high-value contracts and agreements.
• Supporting confidential strategic projects and transformation initiatives across multiple sectors.
• Providing guidance on regulatory, compliance, and governance matters.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders, giving practical and commercially focused advice.
• Managing high-risk and confidential matters from start to finish.
• Supporting junior lawyers and legal colleagues where needed.
• Helping establish internal processes, templates, and best practice as part of the Midlands relocation.

What we’re looking for:
• A qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent, with at least 6 years’ PQE in an in-house environment.
• Broad legal experience across commercial, corporate, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Experience handling sensitive and high-risk matters with discretion.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded, sound judgement, and the ability to work independently.
• A proactive and adaptable approach, comfortable operating at senior level.
