Legal Counsel
Our client is a leading technology company with revenue now reaching north of $5bn. It offers a wide range of technology-driven products and services to investment management firms, insurance companies and financial institutions. The business has a strong presence worldwide. By combining advanced technology with financial expertise, they help clients improve operational efficiency and make more informed decisions. The company is known for its ability to manage complex financial data and provide scalable, tailored solutions. They are now seeking a Legal Counsel to join their UK legal function.
What you'll do:
As a Legal Counsel, your role will be pivotal in providing comprehensive legal support across all areas of the business. You will be responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating legal agreements with clients, suppliers, and other counterparties. Your expertise will also be crucial in assisting with governance & legal risk management activities. Occasionally, you may be called upon to provide initial advice on dispute resolution or assist with company secretarial duties. Your commitment to continuous improvement will drive you to enhance processes and delivery of legal services generally.
- Provide general legal advice to various business units within the organisation
- Negotiate commercial contracts with clients and suppliers
- Assist with the maintenance and enforcement of company policies and procedures
- Participate in risk management activities including attendance at risk committees when required
- Provide initial advice on disputes and claims between the Company and third parties
- Assist with mergers, acquisitions, restructuring and other corporate activity if required
- Provide advice and support to the HR team in connection with staff disputes, claims, grievances and other legal issues arising.
- Participate in group training learning and development
- Maintain clear understanding of corporate procedures and group structure
What you bring:
As an ideal candidate for the Legal Counsel role, you bring along a wealth of experience in outsourcing within the financial services sector. Your meticulous attention to detail coupled with your professionalism sets you apart from others. You are adept at organising, prioritising, and managing a heavy workload while meeting tight deadlines. Your good working knowledge of data protection law will be invaluable in this role. While experience with TUPE/ liftouts is desirable, it is not essential.
- Proven experience in outsourcing preferably within the financial services sector
- Excellent attention to detail and professionalism
- Ability to organise, prioritise and manage a heavy workload to meet tight deadlines
- Good working knowledge of data protection law

On offer:
- £75,000-£90,000
- Bonus up to 20%
- Share allocation
