Senior Legal Counsel

Our client is a top ranked housebuilder, transforming communities and improving lives through their comprehensive skills and capabilities in all aspects of housing. They are currently seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their in-house team. This role offers the opportunity to provide legal advice and support on a range of matters, ensuring efficient handling of construction and commercial disputes.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Legal Counsel, your role will be pivotal in providing legal advice and support on a myriad of legal matters. Your contribution will be crucial in developing best-in-class practices, policies, and procedures for the Legal and Compliance team. Furthermore, you will play an instrumental role in educating colleagues across the business through the development and delivery of toolkits and legal awareness training.

• Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal matters
• Draft, review and negotiate construction and commercial agreements
• Use persuasion and influencing skills to secure strategic outcomes that are compliant with the law
• Commission and manage the provision of external legal advice when necessary
• Contribute to the ongoing development of best-in-class practice, policy and procedures of the Legal and compliance team
• Develop and deliver toolkits and legal awareness training on various issues to educate colleagues across the business

What you bring:

• 2+ years PQE with substantial legal work experience in litigation or corporate or commercial work
• Passionate self-starter with high client care standards
• Confident advising and influencing at all levels in the business
• Solutions-based attitude to work rather than legal theory
