Legal Counsel (FTC)

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their team on a fixed-term contract basis for 6 months, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-value projects, liaising with senior stakeholders across various functions. The role offers a blend of office-based and remote working, providing flexibility and balance.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal advice on a range of commercial matters. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and liaising with senior stakeholders, whilst working on high value projects. You will have the autonomy to run projects and make significant contributions to the organisation's success. This role requires a deep understanding of commercial law and excellent negotiation skills.

• Provide legal advice on commercial matters such as procurement, data, construction, and technology
• Work autonomously on running projects and commercial contracting
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts
• Liaise with senior stakeholders across Group Functions
• Handle high-value, high-profile projects with values exceeding £30m
• Offer strategic advice and guidance on legal matters

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Legal Counsel position will bring a wealth of experience in commercial law. You will have proven experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, coupled with an in-depth understanding of how legal issues can impact an organisation. Your excellent judgement and analytical skills will enable you to develop effective legal strategies that align with organisational objectives. A high degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas is essential for this role.
