Senior Solicitor - Corporate/Commercial
We’re partnering with a prestigious organisation seeking a Senior Lawyer specialising in corporate and commercial matters. What you'll do:
- Provide accurate, practical, and timely legal advice on a wide range of commercial contracts, corporate transactions, and regulatory compliance matters both in the UK and overseas.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership and internal teams to deliver clear legal guidance from early stages of projects and programmes.
- Identify, monitor, and mitigate legal risks associated with organisational operations while ensuring alignment with risk appetites and policies.
- Communicate complex legal issues effectively to stakeholders at all levels, translating technical concepts into accessible language.
- Develop and maintain legal resources such as templates and guidance documents to enhance efficiency across the wider organisation.
- Manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outcomes.
- Instruct and manage relationships with external legal counsel when specialist advice is required, ensuring cost-effective support.
- Drive continuous improvement within the Legal team by constructively challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities for operational enhancement.
- Contribute actively to an open culture of risk management by participating in relevant committees or inputting into risk registers as needed.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their development on specific pieces of work while maintaining high standards of performance.
What you'll need to be successful?
- Demonstrated experience as a qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate covering commercial contracts, corporate matters, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven track record gained either in private practice or in-house roles dealing with complex programmes of work across commercial and corporate law.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
- Strong commercial acumen paired with a solution-oriented approach to delivering pragmatic legal advice that supports business objectives.
- Outstanding communication skills enabling you to present complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal audiences at all levels.
- Exceptional collaboration skills for building trustful relationships across departments; adept at working cooperatively within teams.
- Advanced drafting abilities across all types of legal documentation coupled with concise written or verbal advice delivery.
- Effective negotiation skills allowing you to lead contract negotiations confidently while securing commercially sound outcomes.
