Your New Role:
A Senior Legal Counsel role, reporting to the Group General Counsel as part of a lean but undoubtedly indispensable legal function. Working closely with internal stakeholders on a global basis, you will support the business in relation to corporate transactional/restructuring processes, trade sanctions clearance and general commercial matters. You will also get involved in KYC/AML and some corporate governance matters in what will be a broad remit. Further, you will take on the management responsibility of 1-2 junior legal professionals. You will need to come into the London offices three days per week as part of a hybrid working set up and be confident and skilled in managing internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Who You Are:
You'll be an England & Wales qualified lawyer with unrestricted working rights and a mixture of corporate and commercial experience (industry-specific experience is not required). Experience in navigating trade sanctions matters will be highly valued. In-house experience will be welcomed, but the hiring manager is also happy to speak to practice lawyers looking to make their first in-house move. The ability to turn your hand to ad hoc KYC/AML and general legal compliance policy matters (anti-bribery, anti-corruption, modern slavery, etc.) will be useful. You'll be able to work from the London offices three days a week and be comfortable managing a junior legal professional.
