A leading Financial Services organisation is looking to secure a Senior Corporate M&A Lawyer for an initial 6 month contract.
This role reports to the Head of Legal (Corporate) and is a hybrid role (2 days a week in the office).
This role sits within the Corporate Legal Team, who provide corporate legal support on a range of matters including acquisitions and disposals, equity investments, joint ventures, intra-group reorganisations and transactions, company secretarial and corporate governance matters, corporate disclosure and financial reporting requirements.
Your key accountabilities will include:
Providing legal advice to internal clients which ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and balances legal risk with commercial need
Assisting with the instruction and management of panel law firms and development of strong relationships with external lawyers
Working with internal stakeholders and (where appropriate) external advisers on Corporate Legal aspects of Group ESG disclosures including annual TCFD Reports, External Sector Statements and NZBA disclosures
Negotiating the terms of transaction documentation in conjunction with internal stakeholders such as Group Corporate Development, Finance, Tax and Risk, to ensure legal risk in relation to such transactions is appropriately managed and mitigated
About you:
5+ PQE (though all candidates will be considered on merit)
Extensive corporate experience, ideally in an in-house environment
Experience within Financial Services
Available to start within 6 weeks

One of our clients, a household name in the sports industry, is looking to secure their first In-house Counsel to help shape their legal function and guide on strategic decision making. Working closely with the Club’s senior leadership team, the In-House Counsel will be responsible for providing high quality and timely legal advice on a range of commercial and operational matters, driving best-practice in compliance, and mitigating risk for the Club.
This role will be based in Central London, with regular travel required (travel will be domestic and dependant on fixtures).
