A rare opportunity has arisen with a business based in the West Midlands. This is a great opportunity ot be part of a busy Data Protection team based in the Midlands.
The successful Data Protection Adviser will provide the Group with an advisory service on data privacy/data protection matters ensuring a robust approach to GDPR across all areas of the business.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively across all areas of the business, ensuring that all GDPR policies and processes are understood and followed.
About the Data Protection Adviser role:
As an integral part of the team you will work collaboratively across all areas of the business, ensuring that all GDPR policies and processes are understood and followed. You will have the opportunity to provide support on a wide variety of data issues from data breaches to DPIAs.
You will advise the business on the best way to comply with privacy and data requirements and deliver a high quality compliance mentoring programme within the business.
•Delivering training and providing advice on GDPR to stakeholders with a focus on the compliance if GDPR rules.
•Reviewing policies and processes and redrafting if necessary to ensure GDPR compliance.
•Investigating and assisting the Data Protection Manager with data breaches.
•Managing a large volume of complex requests for access to or deletion of personal data
•Providing appropriate and timely responses to DSARs, FOI and disclosure requests
•Undertake Data Protection Compliance Monitoring.
•Oversee Data Protection Complaints Handling.
About the Data Protection Officer role
•UK qualified solicitor or legal executive is desirable with circa 2 years' experience in a similar role.
•Ideally have considerable knowledge of the Data Protection Act and the Freedom of Information Act, RIPA and other related legislation.
•ISEB qualification is desirable but not essential
•Be a team player and have strong communication skills in order to manage a range of internal stakeholder relationships.
•Records management experience, as well as prior knowledge of working within a legal compliance environment would be advantageous.
