Our client is offering an excellent opportunity for a qualified company secretary to work with a really supportive and collaborative team whilst they go through a period of change and growth, resulting in new company secretarial and governance structures for the business.

About the role

Our client, a leading organisation within the construction industry, has gone through an exciting period of growth and transformation. As a result, they are looking for a Corporate Governance Advisor to join them in what is a newly created position.

Working collaboratively with the Company Secretary, you will play a key role in developing, delivering and implementing the corporate governance framework/strategy for company secretarial services across the business. This role is largely focused on strategy, both in terms of creating and implementing it. You will work alongside the Company Secretary to look at ways the organisation can improve its governance processes, including supporting the embedding of initiatives, processes and procedures.

This role sits in a truly collaborative and friendly team. This organisation offers genuinely flexible working, with the expectation to be in 1 day a week and/or for ad-hoc meetings.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a FTSE or large blue-chip business, with at least 8 years in a similar capacity. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, especially UK company law and corporate governance best practices.
  • A strong understanding and experience in implementing and utilising company secretarial software.
  • Proficiency in stakeholder management, with experience working with board/C-Suite stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to produce quality written reports or minutes.
  • The capability to design and implement new working methods based on company secretarial and corporate governance best practices.
  • Initiative to take ownership and drive projects forward.
  • A commitment to personal development, with CGI/GradGC qualifications.
