Interim General Counsel (not-for-profit)-£120k

Wonderful opportunity for a General Counsel to lead a talented and dedicated team at a not-for-profit organisation. This is a 14 month maternity cover role, requiring someone to start in mid-April. Based in Central London – hybrid arrangement with two to three days required in the office.

The day-to-day work will include:

• Leading high value commercial transactions with global businesses, relating to technology, procurement, manufacturing and content licensing.
• Advising on a wide range of legal matters including company secretarial, competition, privacy and IP (all employment matters are handled externally)
• Managing a team of six staff. Assisting them with queries and guidance they need on their day-to-day work, conducting appraisals and leading any hiring if needed during the course of the contract
• Engagement at C-suite level to advise on key strategic projects, as well as general guidance to mitigate legal risk across all business activity

The role requires a qualified solicitor with at least 10 years’ PQE (no upper limit) although applications from all levels will be considered on merit. You must have at least two years’ experience of managing an in-house legal function. You must have a proven track record of successfully leading high level commercial negotiations as well as possessing the versatility to advise on a wide variety of legal & commercial matters. This role will suit an individual who regards their style as proactive, approachable, organised and positive.
